Our collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club in Dallas, Georgia, is a testament to this belief. Empowering Young Artists

Over the course of 10 workshops, I had the pleasure of working closely with the kids from the Boys and Girls Club. Together, we explored the world of public art, learning about its significance and how it can transform public spaces. The kids enthusiastically participated in creating artwork for street banners, expressing their creativity and ideas through their drawings.

Attending city council meetings to present our project was a pivotal experience for the kids. It gave them a sense of ownership and pride in their work, as they saw firsthand how their artistic contributions could influence and enhance their community. The approval and funding of the project through a grant made it a seamless process, allowing us to focus on bringing the kids’ vision to life.

A Transformative Impact on the Community

The final banners, beautifully crafted from the kids’ drawings, were installed in the city park. These vibrant banners not only added a burst of color and creativity to the park but also became a symbol of community pride and collaboration. For the city of Dallas, the project demonstrated the power of public art to engage citizens, beautify public spaces, and foster a sense of community.
